Urban Liebster

Broken glass

Sounds like a great athlete name, right?

Before I begin rambling about today’s photo, I would like to sincerely thank Ellen of When all is said and done for nominating me for the Liebster award! I’ve never been too much of a winner-of-things, so this is very sweet of Ellen and I humbly and truly appreciate it!

I thought and thought and thought about whether to pass this on or not (since I’m also not much of a passer-on-of-things), but I think that since this is all about passing around kind words and friendly support for fellow bloggers (and not cat jokes), I’ll try it this once. You can never have too much positive energy floating around the internet, right?

And so, here are some people (many of them fellow 365ers!) who post wonderful things and deserve a little extra recognition for their awesomeness. Seriously, go check them out! In no particular order…

The Regina Chronicles 366

Whew.

So back to today’s photo. I’ve written before about the sketchy neighborhood in which I work, so it should come as no surprise that this giant abandoned building lies literally next door to the church surrounded by barbed wire in which I work. Now I’m a total wuss and have driven past this building dozens of times and never stopped to take a photo. But yesterday, I was feeling daring. I pulled off to the side of the road, parked on a shady street (and I don’t mean tree-lined), took exactly three photos, and drove off. Brave, brave me. Unfortunately, as I was leaving, I realized the other side of the building was the side with the sunlight. Which means I’m going to have to do this all over again…

Cheers
